Unfortunately the American culture has one of the lowest percentages of arranged marriages. Americans for the most part enjoy the idea of choosing their partner after falling in love. This might explain the 50% divorce rate in the U.S. It also speaks to the fact that love although wonderful, may not be enough to sustain a marital relationship.
