1. If you have a business name in mind. The first step in the process is to find out if it is available. You can go to google and enter in the name you have in mind as an internet search. In addition, check your state and county business name database. And lastly, search the USPTO trademark database.

· 2. If the name is available. Secure it by going to: https://ecorp.sos.ga.gov/BusinessSearch. This happens to be for Georgia. So you will have to enter the state in which you would like to start the business.

3. Each state has a different cost associated with starting your business. Typically you can look at paying anywhere from $100 – $175.00. Once you have established the name of the business and set up the LLC with the Secretary of State.

4. The next step in starting an LLC is to secure an EIN number (Employer Identification Number) for your business. Note; This can also be completed prior to setting up the LLC in your state.

5. Go to https://irs-gov-ein-number.com/ (To Apply)

6. Once you receive your EIN number. The next step is to set up a business account at the bank of your choosing.

7. Make sure to bring all of the important documents with you. EIN Approval Letter, Operating Agreement, Certificate of Organization from the secretary of State etc.·

8. Depending on your business. The documents needed can vary.

One of the most important purposes in establishing an LLC is understanding that the tax structure in America is setup to help businesses not W2 employees.
